The Kyle Police Department offers the Citizens' Police Academy which is designed for adult citizens who either reside in the City of Kyle or who own a business within the City.  The academy is 10 weeks long, plus a graduation. Classes are one night per week, plus one Saturday.

This hands-on course will allow citizens an opportunity to learn about the operations of the Kyle Police Department. Attendees will also be allowed to ride out with a police officer once reaching a specified level of training.  Once the graduate completes the course, they are provided the opportunity to join the Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association designed to maintain a close working relationship with the police department and future CPA classes. 

Some of the core classes included: Records, Emergency Communications, Patrol Operations and Standards, Mock Traffic Stops, Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene Investigation, Use of Force, Animal Control, Victim Services, Citizen Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E) and Gun Range.

Classes will be held at the Public Safety Center 1700 Kohlers Crossing, Kyle.  The next course is will be held from September 7th through November 10th, 2023.  

If you are interested in being a part of our CPA, please complete the application attached below. Once complete, please return to the Police Department, 111 North Front Street, Kyle.  Applications are due on September 1, 2023 by 5pm.
