The mission of the Kyle Public Library is to serve the community as a resource for informational, educational, recreational, and cultural enrichment by providing convenient access to books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, technology, information services, and quality programming.  These services are provided for patrons of all ages and backgrounds to support literacy and knowledge.

 

Eclipse Glasses

Kyle Public Library is issuing solar eclipse glasses beginning Monday, April 1st through Saturday, April 6th while supplies lasts. 

Glasses are available on a first come, first served basis and must be picked up in-person; we cannot hold or save glasses 

Glasses are Limited to 2 glasses per family and both individuals must be present to pick-up.

Glasses are not issued to groups and organizations.

*Please note Hays CISD is issuing Solar Eclipse Glasses to students.*

City of Kyle Parks including Steeplechase, Bunton Creek , Lake Kyle, Waterleaf, La Verde, Mary Kyle Hartson City Square, and Heroes Memorial Parks are issuing glasses on Monday, April 8th at 11 AM.

Access the library’s digital collection of eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, and magazines through Libby..  Learn how to use Libby.

 

Sign Up for a Library Card

If you don't already have a library card, you can sign up for one online. Any library card holder will be able to access the libraries, extensive physical and digital collections, resources, programs and more! You do not need to sign up separately for a digital card. Online sign-up accounts will expire after 1 year. You can pick up a physical library card at the circulation desk, with an ID and proof of address, and renew your account every 2 years.

If you already have a card/account with us, or ever had one in the past, please contact the circulation desk to inquire about the status of your account before you apply for a new one. You can contact the circulation desk by calling 512-268-7411, emailing circulation@cityofkyle.com, or visiting us in person at 550 Scott St.

 

Additional Services Provided by the Kyle Public Library

Public Computer Use:

  • Available unlimited use for Library Card Holders
  • Available 30 minute sessions for Non-Card Holders

Printing:

  • Color - .65 per side
  • Black and White - .15 per side

Faxing:

  • 1 - 5 pages - $2.50
  • 6 - 10 pages - additional $2.50
  • $2.50 additional for additional pages increments of 5

PLEASE NOTE: $2.50 additional fee will be charged for credit/debit purchases.

Scanning:

  • Color - Free
  • Black and White - Free
